There are three features added in Adobe Photoshop 7.0; they are auto color, auto levels, and auto contrast.

Auto color is used when there is color imbalance of the pictures we edit. Maybe the color of the picture is too cold (too blue) or too warm (too orange), thus we can apply auto color tool to make the color automatically balanced.
Auto Levels is used to stabilize the color in the picture we edit. Sometimes, pictures contain too much of a certain color and need to be stabilized.
Auto contrast is used to stabilize the contrast in the picture we edit. Auto contrast will enhance the area that the contrast is imbalanced.
